Girls Basketball Roundup: Lietz Late 3-pointer Lifts Solon Past Second-ranked Mount Vernon

Solon had a nine-game winning streak over rival Mount Vernon snapped with a 44-37 loss to the Mustangs last month.
On Friday Kobi Lietz helped the Spartans start a new streak against their Highway 1 rival.
Lietz hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key as time expired to give Class 3A fourth-ranked Solon a 55-54 win over 3A second-ranked Mount Vernon in a WAMAC East Division top-five rematch in Mount Vernon.
Solon improved to 16-3 on the season and 6-2 in WAMAC East Division play with its third straight win.
Mount Vernon dropped to 17-3 and 8-1 in WAMAC East Division games.
Callie Levin had a game-high 30 points to lead Solon while Lietz had 11 points including her game-winner.
Hailey Miller had seven points and Delainey Durr had five for the Spartans.
Brynley Rasmussen led Mount Vernon with 15 points while Courtney Franck had 11 and Taylor Franck and Sydney Huber each had nine for the Mustangs.
