Hilary Wilson had a historic prep softball career end on Tuesday with a regional title game loss.

On Thursday the Solon senior standout was honored for an impressive final season.

Wilson was named WAMAC East Division player of the year on Thursday when the league released its postseason softball awards.

A five-year starter Wilson finished her career with more than 290 hits, 200 runs, 190 RBI and 20 home runs.

As a senior Wilson batting a team-high .449 and led Solon in hits (53), runs (31), doubles (14), RBI (35) and on-base percentage (.496).

Wilson was joined on the WAMAC East Division first team by junior Mia Stahle who was a unanimous pick as an outfielder.

Stahle batted .342 and tied for the team lead with 31 runs scored while leading the Spartans with 17 stolen bases.

Sophomores Addie Miller and Izzy Frees and eighth-grader Maddyn Gates were all named to the East Division second team.

Miller was a second-team utility selection after leading Solon with eight home runs while hitting .412 with 19 extra-base hits and 33 RBI.

Frees was a second-team pick as an outfielder after batting .452 with four home runs and 26 RBI to go with 28 runs scored.

Gates earned second-team honors as a pitcher after posting a 7-5 record and 2.30 ERA with two saves while striking out 66 in 82 1/3 innings.

Senior Claire LaDage and junior Kendall Jensen both earned honorable mention honors for the Spartans.

Clear Creek Amana had six players earn all-division honors highlighted by a pair of West Division first team picks in freshman Kyla Schulte and junior Reese Stockman.

Schulte was a first-team pick as an outfield after a stellar season in which she batted .390 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and 26 runs scored.

Shulte also went 8-7 with a 3.90 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings pitched.

Stockman earned first-team honors as a utility selection after batting .423 with a home run, 20 RBI and 17 runs scored.

Junior Aeslyn Massey and freshman Elizabeth Timmerman were both second-team picks in the West Division.

A second-team selection as a utility player, Massey batted .389 with three home runs and 31 RBI and scored 21 runs.

Timmerman was a second-team pick as an outfield after hitting .395 with nine doubles and drove in 19 runs and scored 23 runs.

Seniors Avery Allan and Olivia Miller were both honorable mention picks in the West Division.
