Class 5A No. 10 Liberty High hammered 23 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Cedar Rapids Xavier on Friday in Cedar Rapids.

Liberty High won the opener 14-0 behind a perfect game from Kinsley Robertson and won the nightcap 5-1.

The Lightning improved to 17-3 on the season and 11-1 in Mississippi Valley Conference play while Cedar Rapids Xavier dropped to 5-11 on the season and 4-10 in MVC play.

Robertson spun a five-inning perfect game in the opener retiring all 15 batters that she faced.

The senior right-hander struck out seven without allowing a baserunner.

Liberty High had 14 hits in the opener led by Mischa Reiners who went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI.

Kennedy Daugherty was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI and Robertson had three hits and drove in two runs.

Ella McLaughlin had two hits and scored a run, Ava Donnelly had a double and drove in two runs and Haley Schroeder had a hit and drove in two runs for Liberty High.

Daugherty earned the win in game two allowing just one run on three hits while striking out one and walking four.

Schroeder went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead Liberty High while Daugherty had a triple, scored a run and drove in a run.

Haileigh Smith had a double and drove in a run, Robertson was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Ella McLaughlin had a hit and scored a run.
