Class 4A third-ranked City High and 3A top-ranked Dubuque Wahlert split a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader on Friday in Dubuque.
City High won the opener 13-4 and Dubuque Wahlert claimed the nightcap 6-3.
The Little Hawks moved to 15-6 on the season and 11-5 in MVC play with the split while Dubuque Wahlert now sits at 13-4 and 10-2 in conference play.
City High hammered 13 hits and scored in every inning in the game one win.
Drew Carlson, Alex Knudtson, Gable Mitchell and Carter Seaton all had two hits for City High.
Seaton was 2-for-5 with a double and scored two runs while Mitchell went 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Knudtson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI and also earned the win in the opener allowing four unearned runs on one hit while striking out five in four innings.
Carlson went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI while Drew Larson had a hit and drove in two runs.
Isaiah Svoboda had a double and drove in a run and Joey Bouska had a hit and drove in two runs.
Sophomore Max Waldschmidt took the loss in the nightcap allowing six runs, four earned, on four hits while striking out six.
Cade Obermueller had two hits while Larson had a hit and scored a run and Seaton had a hit and drove in two to lead City High in game two.
Bouska drove in a run in the nightcap and Jacob Williamson and Austin Rindels each scored runs.
