Clear Creek Amana Senior Freeman Signs to Continue Football Career at Western Illinois

After giving a verbal commitment to Western Illinois in February Clear Creek Amana senior Gage Freeman made it official on Monday signing his letter of intent to play football for the Leathernecks.
“I would first like to thank my family without them I would not be in the position I am today,” Freeman wrote in a post on Twitter announcing his commitment. “I would also like to thank my teammates and coaches all throughout my time here at CCA.”
A three-year varsity contributor Freeman emerged as one of the top two-way players in Class 4A as a senior when he led the Clippers in rushing yards and tackles.
Freeman rushed for a career-high 806 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior while averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Freeman rushed for at least 250 yards each of the past three seasons and racked up 1,334 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns in a Clipper uniform.
Freeman also caught 22 passes for 310 yards and three scores as a senior.
A third-team all-state selection as a linebacker, Freeman led Clear Creek Amana with 63 total tackles and 52 solo stops.
Freeman had a sack among seven tackles for loss as a senior and finishes his career with 113.5 tackles including 90 solos and 13 for loss with three sacks.
