FORT DODGE – Clear Creek Amana ended its season in the location that every team wants to end – at the state tournament.

The Clippers just had their season end a little earlier than they would have preferred.

Clear Creek Amana had its season come to an end on Tuesday with a 7-4 loss to eighth-ranked North Polk in an elimination game at the Class 4A state tournament at Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge.

North Polk (21-17), which fell to second-ranked Carlisle in the quarterfinals on Monday, will face third-ranked Fort Dodge (39-5) in an elimination game on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.

Seventh-ranked Clear Creek Amana closed the season 31-13.

For the second day in a row at the state tournament Clear Creek Amana took an early lead.

The Clippers got a run in the bottom of the first inning when Elizabeth Timmerman led off with a single and scored on a Comet error.

North Polk responded with six unanswered runs before Clear Creek Amana cut the lead to 6-3 on a two-run home run by Kyra Schulte in the fifth.

The home run was the 24^th of the season for Schulte who went 1-for-2 with two RBI on Tuesday.

Timmerman was 2-for-4 and scored a run while Brenna Williams had a hit and scored a run.

Charloette Trevino had a hit and drove in a run for the Clippers and Caroline Klapperich was 2-for-3 with a double.

Kynlee McElvain took the loss for Clear Creek Amana allowing seven runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking five in seven innings.

Mallory Byrd earned the win for North Polk allowing four runs on seven hits in a complete game.
