A busy week for Regina continued on Thursday as the Regals picked up their third win in as many days with a 12-1 victory over Camanche in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Iowa City.

Regina is 3-1 this week and improved to 6-2 on the season and 4-0 in RVC with the win over Camanche.

The Regals conclude their stretch of five consecutive days with a game on Friday at home against North Scott.

Regina hammered out 13 hits on Thursday and scored 12 runs for the second straight game.

Prescott Arendt went 3-for-3 with a double and scored two runs to lead the charge for Regina.

Trent Hoogerwerf was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and drove in three runs while Masen Miller had two hits including a double and scored two runs and Ryne Schooley had two hits score three runs and drove in two.

Ryan Schott tossed a one-hitter to earn the win, walking two and striking out seven while allowing one earned run in the five-inning complete game.

Schott also had a hit, scored a run and drove in two.

Camanche dropped to 1-5 on the season and 1-5 in RVC games.

Clippers Swept by Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon swept Clear Creek Amana in a WAMAC Conference double header on Thursday in Tiffin.

The Mustangs won the opener 9-4 in 10 innings and took the nightcap 13-2 to improve to 4-3 on the season with their fourth straight win.

Clear Creek Amana dropped to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in WAMAC contests.

Mount Vernon exploded for five runs in the top of the 10th inning to break open a 4-4 tie in the opener.

Kobey Schlotman had three doubles, drove in three runs and scored a run to pace Clear Creek Amana in the opener.

Camden Smyka, Jordan Wolfe and David Jensen added hits for the Clippers in game one while Smyka took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned in three innings of relief.

Jensen made the start and allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out one.

Clear Creek Amana was held to four hits in game two, two coming off the bat of Jensen.

Weetman Ends Busy Day With Win

The day didn’t start the way Eric Weetman would have like but the Solon junior got a good ending to his busy day on Thursday.

Weetman started at goalkeeper for fourth-ranked Solon in a 3-0 loss to Regina in the Class 1A state soccer quarterfinals at Noon and ended his day by helping the Spartans complete a WAMAC conference doubleheader sweep of Center Point-Urbana with a 6-4 win in the nightcap.

The junior right-hander picked up the win in game two, striking out eight as Solon improved to 6-4 on the season and 4-2 in WAMAC play.

Center Point-Urbana dropped to 2-4 on the season.

Tyler Linderbaum earned the win in game one as Solon cruised to an 18-3 win in six innings.
