Gentry Dumont
Regina graduate and current Central College junior quarterback Gentry Dumont accounted for 149 yards of offense and a touchdown to help the Dutch to a 51-27 win over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Dumont completed 5-of-7 passes for 58 yards and rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown as Central improved to 1-1.
In two games this season Dumont has complete 8-of-14 passes for 97 yards and rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Sam Schrage
Former Clear Creek Amana standout and current Mount Mercy junior Sam Schrage had nine kills on .529 hitting to help the Mustangs to a sweep of Avila on Friday in Cedar Rapids.
Schrage added a pair of blocks in the three-set sweep as Mount Mercy improved to 9-2 on the season and 2-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
On the season the 5-foot-11 Schrage ranks third on the team with 96 kills on .289 hitting and leads the Mustangs with 30 blocks.
Bobby Bacon
City High graduate and current Pittsburg State freshman Bobby Bacon passed for 195 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-23 loss to West Alabama on Saturday in Livingston, Alabama.
Bacon completed 10-of-22 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 18 yards as Pittsburg State dropped to 0-3 on the season.
Bacon had touchdown passes of 55 and 10 yards in his debut performance.
