Regina claimed its second consecutive River Valley Conference South Division title this season going 17-2 in conference games.

Now the Regals are beginning to pick up some individual postseason honors following their impressive conference season.

Regina had a South Division leading eight players named to the River Valley Conference South Division teams when the league released it postseason honors this week.

Six of the eight players honored for Regina earned first-team all-RVC South Division honors highlighted by junior pitcher Will Litton who was a unanimous first team pick.

Freshman Bennett Recker and juniors Jaydon Leonard, Brady Venzon, Kaleb Moeller and Jack Gavin all joined Litton on the South Division first team.

Junior Carter Carolan was a second-team all-South Division selection while junior Trey Streb earned South Division honorable mention honors.

Litton went 5-1 with a save while posting a .93 ERA and .96 WHIP with 60 strikeouts in a team-high 45 innings pitched.

The junior right-hander also batted .449 with 10 extra-base hits, two home runs and a team-leading 31 RBI.

Leonard earned first team honors as an infielder after hitting .410 with eight extra-base hits, 37

runs scored and 30 RBI and also went 4-0 with a save and a .78 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched.

Moeller was a first team all-South Division selection at catcher following a junior season in which he batted .435 with 10 doubles, two triples, 24 runs scored, 18 stolen bases and 23 RBI.

Venzon batted .426 with 34 runs scored and 19 RBI on his way to earning first team all-South Division honors as an outfielder and Gavin was a first team utility selection after hitting .383 with 12 extra-base hits, two home runs and 29 RBI while also going 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 22 innings.

Recker earned first team honors as a pitcher after posting a 5-1 record and 1.63 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP while striking out 39 in 34 1/3 innings.

Carolan was a second team selection as an infielder after hitting .378 with 27 runs, eight doubles and 25 RBI.

West Branch had five players earn all-South Division honors led by junior Garrett Sotzen and senior Hunter Knorr who were each first team picks.

Sotzen was a first team selection as an infielder after batting .552 with 20 extra-base hits, six home runs, 46 runs scored, 35 stolen bases and 42 RBI.

On the mound Sotzen was 3-2 with a 3.53 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 37 2/3 innings.

Knorr earned first team honors as an outfielder after hitting .396 with 35 runs scored, 18 extra-base hits, four home runs and 36 RBI.

Knorr also went 3-3 with a 3.84 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings.

Seniors Nolan Staker and Brennan Dale each earned second team all-South Division honors and junior Eli Klinkkammer was an honorable mention pick.

Dale batted .348 with 24 runs and 23 RBI on his way to earning second-team honors as an outfielder and Staker batted .360 with four home runs, 28 RBI and 27 runs scored.

Regina’s Mark Roering and West Branch’s Eric Alvarez were named South Division co-coaches of the year.

Roering led Regina to a 17-2 conference record and South Division title while Alvarez directed West Branch to a 17-15 record that included a 10-11 mark in conference play.
