State Champion Regina Has Four Players Earn All-State Honors From IHSSCA

Last week Regina wrapped up the state’s biggest soccer prize completing an unbeaten season with a Class 1A state title.
On Monday the Regals began to reap the individual accolades following their team success.
Regina had four players earn all-state honors from the Iowa High Soccer Coaches Association All State when the organization released its postseason awards.
Seniors Ethan Beard, Drew Greve, Evan White and Laird Holden were all named to the Class 1A first team after leading the Regals to a 21-0-1 season capped by a 3-2 victory over Council Bluffs St. Albert in the Class 1A state title match.
Holden earned first team all-state honors after scoring a state-leading 43 goals this season while tying for the team lead with 23 assists.
White ranked second on the team with 24 goals and tied with Holden for the team lead in assists with 23 on his way to earning first team all-state honors.
Greve was a key piece of a Regina defense that posted 12 shutouts and allowed just 12 goals all season.
Greve also had nine goals and five assists while earning first team all-state honors.
Beard earned first team all-state honors after posting six goals and ranking third on the team with 15 assists.
The four Regina seniors highlighted a group of 10 players to earn all-state honors from the IHSSCA.
Liberty High had a pair of players named to the Class 4A first team highlighted by junior Sam Lieu who was named to the 4A first team.
Liberty High senior Finn O’Toole was an honorable mention selection in Class 4A.
Lieu had a goal and three assists for the Lightning and O’Toole led Liberty High with eight goals and three assists.
West High senior defender Jack Eastvold was named to the Class 4A first team along with City High senior Oscar Gates.
Gates led City High with nine goals and Eastvold had a goal for the Trojans.
Clear Creek Amana junior Aiden Gross earned honorable mention honors in Class 3A.
Gross tied for the team lead with six goals while helping the Clippers to a 9-3-3 record.
Solon senior Tucker Spence earned honorable mention honors in Class 3A after scoring seven goals and leading the Spartans with six assists.
