Girls Basketball Roundup: No. 10 City High Downs Ames in Regional Semifinal

City High opened postseason play on Saturday with a 69-33 win over Ames in a Class 5A, Region 7 semifinal in Iowa City.
No. 10 City High improved to 17-6 with the win and will play at ninth-ranked West Des Moines Dowling (12-10) in the Region 7 title game on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Ames closes the season 11-11.
Tessa Driscoll led City High with 21 points while Maybes Miller, Hattie Galloway and Kaitlin Loria all had eight points for the Little Hawks.
Thisbe Lewis had six points and Halle Larew and Eve Vitense each had five for City High.
Parker Bivins had nine points, Cassidy Wollner had eight points and Kiley Sodahl had five points to lead Ames.
