Riding a five-game winning streak City High made a big jump in the  Class 5A girls basketball rankings.

City High moved up four spots to fourth this week in the latest girls basketball rankings released on Wednesday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

City High (14-3) trails top-ranked Johnston, Waukee Northwest, and West Des Moines Dowling in the Class 5A top five.

West High (12-5) dropped three spots to eighth and Liberty High (11-5) held its spot in the latest 5A rankings.

Clear Creek Amana (14-0) remained atop the Class 4A rankings after a win over 3A fifth-ranked Williamsburg on Tuesday.

The Clippers are one of only three unbeaten teams in 4A and are followed in the 4A top five by second-ranked Sioux City Heelan (15-0), third-ranked Norwalk (14-1), Dallas Center-Grimes (14-2) and Carlisle (15-0).

Solon (10-5) remained ninth in the Class 4A rankings and Regina (13-4) remained No. 12 in the Class 2A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Maquoketa in Class 3A, Rock Valley in Class 2A and Newell-Fonda  in Class 1A.
