Clear Creek Amana is the new top team in Class 4A.

In the first rankings of 2026 the Clippers are the top-ranked team in the Class 4A girls basketball rankings released on Wednesday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Off to a perfect 8-0 start, Clear Creek Amana jumped from fourth to first in this week’s rankings replacing previously top-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes in the top spot.

Clear Creek Amana is followed in the Class 4A top five by second-ranked Sioux City Heelan (7-0), third-ranked Norwalk (9-1), Dallas Center-Grimes (8-2) and Carlisle.

Solon (6-2) moved up one spot to ninth in the Class 4A rankings following a win over 3A fifth-ranked Williamsburg on Tuesday.

West High (8-3) moved up two spots to seventh in the Class 5A rankings while City High (9-2) is right behind jumping three spots to eighth in Class 5A.

Liberty High (6-4) is 10th in 5A rankings.

Regina (8-3) remained No. 12 in the Class 2A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Johnston in Class 5A, Maquoketa in Class 3A, Treynor in Class 2A and Council Bluffs St. Albert in Class 1A.
