Boys Basketball Roundup: Liberty High’s Washpun Pours in 40 in Season-opening Loss to North Scott

Jerimiah Washpun poured in a career-high 40 points but Liberty High couldn’t keep pace with North Scott in a high-paced opener for both teams falling 87-76 in North Liberty.
Washpun hit 16 of 31 field goal attempts including six 3-pointers in his 40-point outburst and added nine rebounds and five assists.
Chase Goodheart and Asher Kahn each had 12 points for the Lightning while Jacob Stapleton had four rebounds and Brooks Peyton had three rebounds and two assists.
Josiah Harrington had a game-high 45 points to lead North Scott.
