Clear Creek Amana Senior Lower Named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year

Clear Creek Amana has been one of the most successful teams in the state the past four seasons amassing a 157-23 record and reaching the Class 4A state tournament each of the past three season.
Another set of Clipper individuals responsible for that team success picked up postseason honors on Tuesday.
Clear Creek Amana had seven players named to the WAMAC Conference All-West Division teams when the league released its postseason awards on Tuesday.
Senior Averie Lower was named West Division player for the year, marking the third consecutive season a different Clippers had earned the top honor in the West Division.
Bliss Beck won her third consecutive WAMAC West Division player of the year award in 2023 and Emily Henderson was named WAMAC West Division player of the year last season before Lower landed the award this year.
Lower, Henderson and junior Bailey Simpon headlined the Clipper all-division selections, each earning unanimous first-team honors for the second consecutive season.
The 6-foot Lower leads Clear Creek Amana with 295 kills on .287 hitting this season and ranks second on the team with 258 digs and is fourth with 26 ace serves.
Henderson leads the Clippers with 902 assists and has added 77 kills, 214 digs, 24 blocks and 13 ace serves.
Simpson ranks second on the team with 269 kills on .407 hitting and leads Clear Creek Amana with 91 blocks.
Sophomores Julia Schlarbaum and Kendall Ronnfeldt were each second-team all-West Division selections.
Schlarbaum ranked third on the team with 246 kills on .299 hitting, was third on the team with 257 digs and led the Clippers with 72 ace serves.
Ronnfeldt led the Clippers with 305 digs and ranked third on the team with 28 ace serves.
Seniors Elizabeth Timmerman and Sariah Sherman were both honorable mention picks in the West Division.
Solon had six players earn WAMAC All-East Division honors after the Spartans claimed the East Division regular season title.
Seniors Kiley Devery and Kennedey Whitford were both unanimous East Division first team selections for the Spartans while senior Jozie Lahr and freshman Amelia Guinn were named to the East Division second team.
Devery leads the Spartans with 315 kills on .263 hitting and ranks second on the team with 53 blocks.
Whitford had a team-high 428 digs and led Solon with 48 ace serves.
Guinn ranked second on the team with 217 kills on .206 hitting and had 29 blocks while Lahr ranked third on the team with 172 kills and led the Spartans with 112 blocks.
Senior Cydney Jaster and junior Scarlett Ferin were both honorable mention picks for the Spartans.
