Player to watch: Des Moines East senior Braiden Johnson (5-9, 175) has caught 46 passes for 641 yards and seven touchdowns, has rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown, has18 tackles and an interception and has returned a fumble for a touchdown.
Key stat: The six opponents for City High so far this season have a combined record of 25-11.
About the Scarlets: Des Moines East has lost five consecutive games following a 10-2 win over Des Moines North in the season opener and is coming off a 63-18 loss at Norwalk last week.
Two of the losses for Des Moines East have come by one score, including a 29-27 loss to Marshalltown in week four.
Des Moines East is averaging 16.7 points and 282 total yards per game while producing 5.4 yards per play on offense.
The Scarlet offense is led by senior quarterback A’monte Johnson (6-1, 200) who has completed 75-of-144 passes for 995 yards and nine touchdowns with six interceptions and has also rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown.
Robbie Sykes (5-9, 180) has rushed for a team-high 266 yards while Braiden Johnson has been the top pass catcher.
Junior Malik Williams (6-3, 210) has caught 11 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
The Scarlets are allowing 38.8 points and 326 total yards per game on defense while giving up 8 yards per play.
Lance Williams (5-11, 230) leads the team with 40 tackles including five for loss and Johnathon Giefer (5-7, 150) has 20 tackles and a team-high three interceptions.
About the Little Hawks: City High lost its sixth consecutive game to open the season on Friday falling to Southeast Polk 56-7.
The Little Hawks will look to snap its losing skid this week in its third road game of the season.
City High lost road games 21-7 at Bettendorf and 40-21 at Cedar Falls in September.
The Little Hawks are averaging 11.2 points and 278 total yards per game while posting 4.8 yards per play.
Sophomore quarterback Chris Kabaiza has completed 51-of-95 passes for 528 yards and three touchdowns with 10 interceptions and has rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown.

West High (5-1) at Davenport Central (1-5)

Player to watch: Davenport Central junior quarterback Jaleel Toney Walker (5-9, 160) has completed 28-of-85 passes for 422 yards and a touchdown and has rushed for a team-high 214 yards and a touchdown.
Key stat: West High has a yards per play differential of +3.5 averaging 8.3 yards per play on offense while allowing 4.8 yards per play on defense.
About the Trojans: West High bounced back from its first loss of the season by posting season-highs in points (69), total yards (502), rushing yards (302) and yards per play (14.3) in a 69-7 win over Muscatine.
Junior quarterback Reece Wheeler leads a West High offense that is averaging 43.2 points and 428 total yards per game while posting 8.3 yards per play.
Wheeler has completed 59-of-101 passes while throwing for 1,299 yards and 12 touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Senior Ethan Headings has been the top target for Wheeler with 31 receptions for 913 yards and 10 touchdowns while Julian Manson has 12 receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns.
Campbell Janis has rushed for a team-leading 625 yards and five touchdowns and junior Mikey Moody has rushed for 180 yards and five touchdowns.
The West High defense is allowing 17 points and 269 total yards per game while giving up 4.8 yards per play.
Manson leads West High with 37.5 tackles including three for loss and Janis ranks second on the team with 30.5 tackles.
Jackson Law has 30 tackles and a team-high 7.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks and Headings has 20 tackles with five for loss.
About the Blue Devils: Davenport Central has dropped three consecutive games following a 42-6 win over Davenport West in week three and is coming off a 54-7 loss at Liberty High last Friday.
The Blue Devils are averaging 12.7 points and 183 total yards per game while posting 4.4 yards per play on offense.
Toney Walker leads the Davenport Central offense while Giovanni Hayslett (5-6, 155) has rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns and Isaac Leyba (5-8, 160) has rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
TK Morrison (6-1, 165) has been the top target in the passing game with five receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown and Messiah Johnson (5-10, 140) has eight receptions for 131 yards.
Davenport Central is allowing 29.8 points and 330 total yards per game on defense while giving up 6.3 yards per play.
Jacob Wislander (6-0, 210) leads the Blue Devils with 32 tackles including 1.5 sacks and Beckhim Hutchison (6-0, 184) has 26.5 tackles with three tackles for loss.
Davenport Central has forced 11 turnovers with senior Camren Tate (5-8, 155) leading the way with two interceptions.
Liberty High (5-1) at Pleasant Valley (3-3)

Player to watch: Pleasant Valley senior quarterback Lincoln Dalton (6-4, 225) has completed 31-of-61 passes for 574 yards and seven touchdowns with two interceptions and has rushed for 219 yards and six touchdowns.
Key stat: Pleasant Valley has allowed 231 rushing yards per game in its three losses this season and has given up 108 rushing yards per game in its three victories this season.
About the Spartans: Pleasant Valley had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 29-0 loss at Linn-Mar last Friday.
The Spartans previous two losses came to 5-1 teams Cedar Falls (21-14) and West High (42-30).
Pleasant Valley is averaging 27.3 points and 321.5 total yards per game while averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
The Spartans have done most of their damage on the ground, averaging 219 rushing yards per game.
Five players have rushed for at least 100 yards led by senior Gavin Barber (5-7, 170) who has a team-high 350 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Evan Barr (6-0, 185) has added 303 yards and a touchdown and Colin Townsend (5-9, 175) has rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns.
Jackson O’Melia (6-1, 175) has caught 14 passes for 188 yards and Barber has six receptions for 206 yards and four touchdowns.
On defense Pleasant Valley is allowing 21.3 points and 322 total yards per game while giving up 6.2 yards per play.

About the Lightning: Liberty High won its second consecutive game following a week four loss at Johnston last Friday downing Davenport Central 54-7.
The Lightning have averaged 49 points and 426 total yards per game in its back-to-back wins over West High and Davenport Central.
Senior quarterback Reece Rettig leads a Liberty High offense that is averaging 34.2 points and 387 total yards per game on 6.2 yards per play.
Rettig has completed 113-of-157 passes for 1,177 yards and 12 touchdowns with eight interceptions and has rushed for 480 yards and nine touchdowns.
Junior Brody Beaver has rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns and Logan Laubenthal has rushed for 192 yards and a touchdown.
Leo Rozz has a team-high 27 receptions for 275 yards and three touchdowns and Pryor Reiners has caught 21 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns.
The Liberty High defense is holding opponents to 17.7 points and 234 total yards per game while allowing 5.8 yards per play.
Landon Bell leads Liberty High with 27 tackles including 11 for loss and Reiners has 12.5 tackles with two for loss.
Washington (3-3) at Solon (6-0)
Where: Spartan Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

Player to watch: Washington senior quarterback back Kael Williams (6-1, 190) has passed for 520 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 814 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 7.8 yards per carry and also ranks fourth on the team with 20 tackles including two for loss.
Key stat: The three losses for Washington this season have come to teams with a combined 14-4 record.
About the Demons: After opening the season with back-to-back losses to Mid-Prairie and Independence the Demons have won three of their past four games including a 42-30 win over Fairfield last week.
Washington is averaging 27 points and 304 total yards per game on 6.5 yards per play.
The Demon offense is led by Williams who leads Washington in rushing and passing yards ands has accounted for 16 of the team’s 22 offensive touchdowns this season.
Senior Caden Greiner (5-11, 175) has rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown and sophomore Liam Roberts (6-0, 170) leads three players with at least 100 receiving yards with six receptions for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
Nic Stone (6-4, 225) has caught 17 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown and Carson Brown (6-0, 200) has 11 receptions for 114 yards.
Washington is allowing 31.7 points and 300 total yards per game while giving up 5.9 yards per play.
Junior Blaine Rees (5-11, 205) leads the team with 52 tackles with 2.5 for loss while Clayton Evans (6-0, 200) has 39.5 tackles with three for loss.
Junior Brady Krantz (6-3, 225) has a team-high 10.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
About the Spartans: Solon has been among the most impressive teams in Class 3A this season. The Spartans are one of only three remaining undefeated teams in Class 3A and have outscored district 4 opponents Fairfield and Keokuk by a combined total of 135-6 over the past two weeks.
Solon is averaging 322.8 total yards and 44.5 points per game while producing 7.3 yards per play.
Senior quarterback Eli Kampman has completed 69-of-103 passes for 1,121 yards and 14 touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns.
Maddox Kelley has rushed for 223 yards and seven touchdowns and has caught 23 passes for 263 yards and seven touchdowns.
Cody Milliman has 19 receptions for 284 yards and a touchdown and Kaden Hoeper has 17 receptions for 367 yards and five touchdowns.
The Solon defense is holding opponents to 220.8 total yards and 12.3 points per game while allowing 4.4 yards per play.
Senior Kyler Jensen has a team-high 44.5 tackles with six tackles for loss and junior James Thomsen has 24 tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
Senior Colby Myers has a team-high 8.5 tackles for loss with five sacks.
Newton (5-1) at Clear Creek Amana (3-3)
Where: Clipper Field, 7:30 p.m.

Player to watch: Newton senior quarterback Caden Klein (5-10, 185) has completed 48-of-94 passes for 1,048 yards and 11 touchdowns with three interceptions and has rushed for 331 yards and eight touchdowns.
Key stat: Newton leads Class 4A in total offense averaging 427.5 total yards per game.
About the Cardinals: Newton comes to Tiffin red hot, riding a four-game winning streak that includes a 35-33 win at previously unbeaten Pella last Friday.
The Cardinals are atop the Class 4A, District 4 standings at 2-0 and have scored at least 35 points in every game during its current four-game winning streak.
Led by Klein the Cardinals have one of the top offenses in Class 4A.
Newton is averaging 39.7 points and 427.5 total yards per game while averaging 8.5 yards per play.
Three different Cardinals have rushed for at least 200 yards this season helping Newton averaging 252.9 rushing yards per game.
Junior Isaiah Hansen (6-1, 185) has rushed for a team-high 796 yards and 12 touchdowns and junior Qhjuan Coley (6-0, 200) has rushed for 224 yards and a touchdown.
Senior Finn Martin (6-2, 190) has been the top pass catcher with 26 receptions for 598 yards and eight touchdowns and Coley has nine receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
Newton is allowing 22 points and 315.5 total yards per game while surrendering 5.4 yards per play.
Junior Nick Milburn (6-3, 225) leads the team with 71 tackles including 9.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Ali Yahia (6-0, 160) and Dawson Maki (5-11, 160) each have four interceptions as Newton has forced 13 turnovers in six games.
About the Clippers: Clear Creek Amana snapped a three-game losing skid and improved to 1-1 in District 4 play with a 35-13 win over Marion last Friday.
Sophomore Texton Bollers passed for 112 yards and a touchdown in relief of starter Conlan Poynton in the win over the Wolves last week.
Poynton leads a Clipper offense that is averaging 37.5 points and 319.5 total yards per game on 6.5 yards per play.
The senior quarterback has passed for 745 yards and seven touchdowns and has rushed for 508 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Tay Seals has been the top pass catcher with 19 receptions for 273 yards and three touchdowns and Aren Schlemme has 10 receptions for 264 yards and four touchdowns.
Clear Creek Amana has held opponents to 22.5 points and 265.7 total yards per game while allowing 4.8 yards per play.
Senior Aidan Schrock has a team-high 43.5 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and junior Ian Kelley has 21 tackles with four for loss.
The Clippers have a 4A-leading 17 sacks with 12 different players recording a sack led by Avery Sorensen and Dylan Schrock each with 2.5 sacks.
Class 1A No. 3 Regina (6-0) at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (3-3)
Where: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School, 7 p.m.

Player to watch: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont junior Zane Mullenix (5-10, 185) has rushed for 65 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 7.5 yards per carry, has passed for 82 yards and a touchdown, has three receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown and leads the team with 78.5 tackles including 10 for loss.
Key stat: Regina is averaging 32 yards per kick off return and has three different players, Emmett Burke, Gabriel Hegelheimer and Edwin Gangba, that have returned kick offs for touchdowns.
About the Rockets: After opening the season 1-3 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont has outscored Cardinal and Louisa-Muscatine by a combined total of 109-18 in back-to-back district wins.
Junior quarterback Dalton Brinegar (5-10, 155) leads a Rocket offense that is averaging 292 total yards and 30 points per game while producing 5.7 yards per play.
Brinegar has completed 20-of-64 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns with junior Emmett Holohan (6-2, 165) the top receiving target with eight receptions for 209 yards and three touchdowns.
Mullenix is the key on offense for the Rockets leading a rushing attack that averages 220.2 yards per game on the ground.
Defensively Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont is allowing 21.8 points and 277 total yards per game while giving up 5.6 yards per play.
Mullenix leads the team in tackles and tackles for loss and is followed by a trio of sophomores in Kenton Stout (5-6, 165), Slater Thomas (5-6, 135) and Logan Gardner (6-1, 205).
Stout has 47.5 tackles, Thomas has 41.5 tackles with three for loss and Gardner has 41.5 tackles with six for loss.
About the Regals: Regina has rolled to a 3-0 start in Class 1A, District 6 play outscoring district opponents Cardinal, Durant and Sigourney-Keota by a combined score of 146-19.
The Regals have been efficient on both sides of the ball this season.
On offense the Regals are averaging 45.8 points and 333.2 total yards per game while producing an impressive 7.5 yards per play.
The Regals have been balanced, averaging 157.8 rushing yards and 175.3 passing yards per game.
Senior quarterback Kyle Tracy has completed 63-of-83 passes for 888 yards and 13 touchdowns with three interceptions and has rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns.
Junior Savion Miller has rushed for a team-high 468 yards and nine touchdowns and has four receptions for 93 yards and four touchdowns.
Junior Tate Wallace has been the top target in the passing game with 25 receptions for 302 yards and four touchdowns.
The Regina defense is holding opponents to 13.7 points and 182.2 total yards per game while allowing 4.1 yards per play.
Wallace leads Regina with 24.5 tackles including seven for loss and two sacks while James Whisler has 22.5 tackles with 3.5 for loss.
Regina has forced 14 turnovers in six games with Drew Greve leading the team with five interceptions.
Anamosa (3-3) at West Branch (4-2)
Where: The Little Rose Bowl, 7 p.m.

Player to watch: Anamosa senior Hudson Scranton (5-11, 165) has rushed for a team-high 831 yards and seven touchdowns and ranks fourth on the team with 22 tackles including five for loss.
Key stat: West Branch is averaging 246 rushing yards per game while Anamosa is holding opponents to 74.7 rushing yards per game.
About the Blue Raiders: Following a season-opening win over Maquoketa the Blue Raiders dropped three consecutive games to Dubuque Wahlert, Center Point-Urbana and Bellevue but has bounced back with consecutive district wins over Tipton and Monticello.
Anamosa is current tied with West Branch at 2-1 in Class 2A, District 5.
The Blue Raiders are averaging 17.8 points and 285 total yards per game while averaging 4.5 yards per play.
Junior quarterback Reilly Shaw (5-10, 165) has completed 60-of-101 passes for 583 yards with four touchdowns and six interceptions and has rushed for 236 yards and two touchdowns.
Scranton is the top rusher while senior Adam Brophy (6-4, 190) has a team-high 36 receptions for 421 yards and four touchdowns.
Senior Ayden Antonelli (6-0, 190) leads an Anamosa defense that is allowing 20.8 points and 261 total yards per game while allowing 5.3 yards per play.
Antonelli has a team-high 36.5 tackles with 9.5 for loss and five sacks while sophomore Colt Nebergall (6-0, 170) has 26 tackles with three tackles for loss.
About the Bears: West Branch improved to 2-1 in District 5 play with a 43-16 win at Tipton last Friday.
The Bears are 3-0 at home this season and have outscored opponents 139-35 in those three wins.
West Branch is averaging 35.8 points and 315.5 total yards per game this season while posting 7.2 yards per play.
Senior quarterback Brennen Dale has completed 26-of-61 passes for 387 yards and six touchdowns with four interceptions and has rushed for 227 yards and four touchdowns.
Junior Keaton Gates has rushed for a team-high 872 yards and 10 touchdowns and Cooper Gates has added 300 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Brandon Pedersen has been the top target in the passing game with nine receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown and Nolan Staker has six receptions for 141 yards and three touchdowns.
On defense West Branch is holding opponents to 16.5 points and 261.5 total yards per game while giving up 5.2 yards per play.
Senior linebacker Conner Capper leads West Branch with 32.5 tackles including five for loss and Cooper Gates has 31 tackles with 8.5 for loss and five sacks.
Lincoln Naber has 26 tackles with 5.5 for loss and four sacks and senior Griffin Seydel has a team-high five interceptions.
