Player to watch: Southeast Polk junior running back Stanley Cooper has rushed for 614 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 9.9 yards per carry.
Key stat: Southeast Polk is a combined 59-9 the past six seasons and has played in the state title game each of the past five seasons winning four consecutive Class 5A titles.
About the Rams: Southeast Polk bounced back from a 45-14 loss at West Des Moines Dowling in week four with a 70-6 home win over Ottumwa last week.
Sophomore Boston Bailey and junior Austin Mart have shared timed at quarterback the past two weeks.
Bailey has completed 15-of-21 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns without an interception this season while Mart has completed 17-of-43 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.
Cooper is the top rushing for the Rams while senior Drew Thompson has rushed for 89 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
Senior Teague Cantrall has a team-leading 12 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
The Rams are allowing 261 total yards and 24.6 points per game while allowing 105 rushing yards per game and 5.1 yards per play.
Senior Joel Thompson has a team-high 23 tackles with 3.5 for loss and two sacks and Thomas Dixon has 10.5 tackles with 2.5 for loss and two sacks.
Brayden Lewis leads the Rams with three interceptions as Southeast Polk has forced 11 turnovers in five games.
About the Little Hawks: City High dropped its fifth consecutive game to open the season with a 40-19 home loss to Norwalk last Friday.
The Little Hawks are averaging 288 total yards and 12 points per game while posting 5 yards per play behind sophomore quarterbacks Coden Kurtz and Chris Kabaiza.
Kabaiza has passed for 426 yards and two touchdowns with five interceptions and has also rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown and Kurtz has passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns with six interceptions and rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Marshall Sheldon has rushed for 261 yards while senior Jack Lampe has rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
Chayse Newton has been the top target in the passing game with 32 receptions for 347 yards and Lampe has 11 receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense City High is allowing 368 total yards and 36 points per game while giving up 6.6 yards per play.
Senior linebacker Blaine Heick has 43.5 tackles with seven for loss and Sheldon has 42 tackles with nine for loss.
Senior Raphael Etuma has 22 tackles with a team-high 9.5 for loss and two sacks and Kane Willey has 17 tackles with four for loss.
Davenport Central (1-4) at Liberty High (4-1)
Where: Liberty Stadium, 7 p.m.

Player to watch: Davenport Central junior quarterback Jaleel Toney Walker (5-9, 160) has completed 20-of-68 passes for 340 yards and a touchdown and has rushed for a team-leading 200 yards and a touchdown.
Key stat: Liberty High has run at least 63 offensive plays in all five games this season and no opponent has run more than 59 offensive plays against the Lightning.
About the Blue Devils: Davenport Central is off to a 1-4 start this season after posting consecutive 2-7 seasons the previous two years.
The Blue Devils defeated Davenport West 42-6 in week three but have dropped back-to-back games to Davenport North (26-2) and Linn-Mar (41-10) the past two weeks.
Toney Walker leads a Blue Devil offense that is averaging 194 total yards and 13.8 points per game.
Senior Giovanni Hayslett (5-6, 155) has rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while Isaac Leyba (5-8, 160) has run for 101 yards and a touchdown and Beckhim Hutchinson (6-0, 184) has rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
Junior Messiah Johnson (5-10, 140) leads the team with six receptions for 85 yards and TK Morrison (6-1, 165) has four receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown.
On defense Davenport Central is allowing 309 total yards and 25 points per game while giving up 5.5 yards per play.
Senior Jacob Wislander (6-0, 210) has a team-high 31.5 tackles with 1.5 sacks and Hutchison has 25.5 tackles with three for loss.
About the Lightning: Liberty High bounced back from a 27-24 loss at Johnston in week four with a 44-31 win at West High last week.
The Lightning are averaging 378 total yards and 29.8 points per game while posting 5.6 yards per play after posting a season-high in points and rushing yards in the win over the Trojans.
Senior quarterback Reece Rettig has completed 101-of-143 passes for 933 yards and nine touchdowns with eight interceptions and has rushed for a team-high 448 yards and eight touchdowns.
Junior Brody Beaver has rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns and caught seven passes for 52 yards.
Junior Leo Rozz has a team-high 25 receptions for 265 yards and three touchdowns and Pryor Reiners has 19 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
The Liberty High defense is allowing 19.8 points and 255 total yards per game while allowing 6 yards per play.
Landon Bell leads the Lightning with 25.5 tackles including 10.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks and Cooper Lester has 17.5 tackles with 2.5 for loss.
Muscatine (0-5) at West High (4-1)
Where: Trojan Field, 7 p.m.
Last season: West High 56, Muscatine 20
Player to watch: Muscatine senior Gaige Curtis (5-11, 145) has complete 35-of-69 passes for 504 yards and four touchdowns, rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns and ranks second on the team with 17.5 tackles.
Key stat: West High senior Ethan Headings leads the state with 756 receiving yards and 27.6 yards per reception and ranks seventh in the state with eight receiving touchdowns.
About the Muskies: Muscatine dropped to 0-5 with a 56-6 loss at Pleasant Valley last week.
The Muskies are averaging 206 total yards and 12.4 points per game while averaging 4.2 yards per play.
Curtis leads the Muscatine offense and senior Seth Reiland has rushed for a team-leading 289 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 3.8 yards per carry.
James Roberts has caught seven passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns and Reiland has a team-high 16 receptions for 135 yards.
Junior Caleb Gault has 19.5 tackles with one for loss and Colin Glynn has 13.5 tackles with a team-high 4.5 for loss and a sack.
About the Trojans: West High opened the season by outscoring opponents 159-51 during a 4-0 start before having its four-game winning streak snapped with a 44-31 loss to Liberty High last week.
The Trojans have been among the most potent offenses in Class 5A this season averaging 413 total yards and 38 points per game while averaging 7.5 yards per play.
Junior quarterback Reece Wheeler has completed 53-of-91 passes for 1,099 yards and 10 touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Senior tailback Campbell Janis has rushed for a team-high 485 yards and three touchdowns and junior Mikey Moody has rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns.
Headings headlines the West High pass catchers while Julian Manson has 12 receptions for 165 yards and two touchdowns and Henry Elser has seven receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown.
The West High defense is holding opponents to 289 total yards and 19 points per game while allowing 5.1 yards per play.
Manson has a team-high 33 tackles with 1.5 for loss while Janis has 29 tackles for the Trojans.
Senior defensive end Jack Law has 27.5 tackles with seven tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks and Headings has 4.5 tackles for loss among his 17.5 tackles.
Marion (1-4) at Clear Creek Amana (2-3)
Where: Clipper Field, 7:30 p.m.
Last season: Clear Creek Amana 28, Marion 3
Player to watch: Marion senior Landon Tilkes has rushed for 198 yards and a touchdown and also leads the Wolves with 22 tackles including 3.5 tackles for loss.
Key stat: Clear Creek Amana held opponents to 141 rushing yards per game and didn’t allow a rushing touchdown in its two wins to open the season and has allowed 193 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in its three losses.
About the Wolves: Marion dropped its third consecutive game on Friday falling to Pella 48-0.
Following a 21-12 win over Center Point-Urbana in week two the Wolves have been outscored 105-6 in consecutive losses to Davenport North, Mason City and Pella.
The Wolves are led by senior quarterback Lucas Stearns who has completed 23-of-64 passes for 173 yards and three interceptions.
Colton Taylor has rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown and has a team-high seven receptions for 49 yards.
Logan Hendricks has rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown and Matthew Danninger has six receptions for 63 yards.
The Marion defense is allowing 347 total yards and 30.4 points per game while giving up 7.2 yards per play.
The Wolves are led by Tilkes and senior Kolby Beltz who has 20.5 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss.
Gideon Hansen has a team-high 7.5 tackles for loss and Brandon Hatfield has 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
About the Clippers: Clear Creek Amana had its losing streak stretch to three with a 28-25 loss at Grinnell on Friday.
The Clippers are averaging 324 total yards and 38 points per game while posting 6.8 yards per play on offense.
Senior quarterback Conlan Poynton leads the Clipper offense and has completed 47 percent of his passes while throwing for 690 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions and has also rushed for 473 yards and nine touchdowns.
Tay Seals has caught 16 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns and Aren Schlemme has eight receptions for 178 yards and four touchdowns.
Nick Daniel has 10 receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown.
The Clear Creek Amana defense is allowing 308 total yards and 24.2 points per game while allowing 5.4 yards per play.
Aidan Schrock leads the Clippers with 38.5 tackles including three for loss while Evan Waring has 19.5 tackles.
Avery Sorensen has four tackles for loss with 2.5 sacks and Noah Collis has four tackles for loss and a sack.
Keokuk (3-2) at Solon (5-0)
Where: Spartan Stadium, 7 p.m.
Last season: Did not play
Player to watch: Keokuk sophomore quarterback Jadyn Burton (6-1, 185) has completed 81-of-126 passes for 1,312 yards and 17 touchdowns and has rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Key stat: Burton ranks fourth in the state and leads Class 3A in passing yards and also leads 3A in passing touchdowns and yards per completion (16.2).
About the Chiefs: Keokuk started the season 2-2 with wins over Mediapolis (27-14) and West Burlington Notre Dame (34-14) and losses to Williamsburg (44-0) and Burlington (62-27) before opening district play with a 55-27 win over Fort Madison last week.
Burton leads a potent Chief offense that is averaging 318 total yards and 28.6 points per game while posting 6.6 yards per play.
Four different Keokuk players have at least 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns led by sophomore Kurt Joy (6-0, 165) who has 26 receptions for 432 yards and five touchdowns.
Senior Chayce Smith (6-2, 165) has 11 receptions for 238 yards and five touchdowns, senior Mason Claus (6-2, 208) has 14 receptions for 251 yards and three touchdowns and Antonio Crockett (5-9, 145) has seven catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns.
Junior Jarod Anderson (5-8, 215) has rushed for a team-high 144 yards and a touchdown.
On defense Keokuk is allowing 311 total yards and 32.2 points per game while giving up 5.7 yards per play.
Claus leads the Chiefs with 42.5 tackles including 7.5 for loss and four sacks and Anderson has 32.5 tackles with 1.5 for loss.
Braxton Hayner (6-0, 185) has 23.5 tackles with four for loss and six different players have an interception for Keokuk which has forced eight turnovers.
About the Spartans: Solon improved to 5-0 on the season with a 77-0 win at Fairfield in its district opener last week.
The Spartans are averaging 337 total yards and 41.8 points per game on 7.3 yards per play behind senior quarterback Eli Kampman.
Kampman has completed 63-of-96 passes for 1,032 yards and 12 touchdowns with one interception and has rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns.
Maddox Kelley has rushed for 174 yards and six touchdowns and caught 22 passes for 261 yards and six touchdowns.
Kaden Hoeper has 17 receptions for 367 yards and five touchdowns and Cody Milliman has 16 receptions for 250 yards.
The Solon defense is holding opponents to 230 total yards and 13.6 points per game while allowing 4.4 yards per game.
Senior linebacker Kyler Jensen leads Solon with 43.5 tackles including six for loss and James Thomsen has 21.5 tackles with 7.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.
Lucas Feuerbach has 20 tackles with 3.5 for loss and Tripp Johnson has 17.5 tackles with 2.5 for loss.
West Branch (3-2) at Tipton (0-5)
Where: Diedrichsen Field, 7 p.m.
Last season: Did not play
Player to watch: Tipton senior linebacker Jacob Langley (5-9, 180) ranks second in the state with 71.5 tackles including 42 solo stops, 9.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Key stat: Langley has at least 12.5 tackles in all five games this season and had a career-high 17 tackles in a 24-7 loss at Anamosa last week.
About the Tigers: Tipton was 3-5 last season but has opened the season with five consecutive losses including consecutive district setbacks to Alburnett (14-0) and Anamosa the past two weeks.
The Tigers have been solid defensively this season behind the play of Langley holding opponents to 256 total yards and 22.6 points per game and 4.1 yards per play.
Tipton has been efficient against the run allowing just 124.8 rushing yards per game.
Senior Max Lashmit (6-1, 170) has 31.5 tackles with two for loss and senior Ethan Holub (6-1, 185) has 21.5 tackles with eight for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Senior Garret Fitch (6-1, 180) has 21.5 tackles and a pair of interceptions.
The Tipton offense is averaging 165 total yards and 7.6 points per game while posting 3.5 yards per play.
Fitch leads the Tiger offense and has completed 47-of-115 passes for 610 yards and four touchdowns and eight interceptions and has rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns.
Holub has rushed for a team-high 107 yards and Oakley Kruse (5-6, 150) has caught a team-leading 17 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns.
Gavin Sorgenfrey (6-0, 165) has 14 receptions for 156 yards and one touchdown.
About the Bears: West Branch had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 20-17 loss at Alburnett last week.
The Bears have relied on a stingy defense this season holding opponents to 279 total yards and 16.6 points per game while giving up 5.3 yards per play.
West Branch has forced 12 turnovers through five games including 11 interceptions led by senior defensive back Griffin Seydel who has a team-high four interceptions.
Conner Capper has a team-high 26.5 tackles with 1.5 for loss and Cooper Gates has 26 tackles with 7.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.
Lincoln Naber has 23 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks and Michael Montgomery has 21 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss.
Led by senior quarterback Brennen Dale the West Branch offense is averaging 319 total yards and 34.4 points per game while posting 7.3 yards per play.
Dale has completed 24-of-57 passes for 331 yards and six touchdowns with four interceptions and has rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns.
Keaton Gates has rushed for 658 yards and five touchdowns and Cooper Gates has rushed for 275 yards and five touchdowns.
Nolan Staker has six receptions for 141 yards and three touchdowns and Capper has six receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Regina (5-0) at Sigourney-Keota (2-3)
Where: Sigourney High School, 7 p.m.
Last season: Did not play
Player to watch: Junior Ike Molyneux (5-10, 185) leads the Sigourney-Keota offense rushing for 542 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
Key stat: Sigourney-Keokta has won at least seven games in six consecutive seasons and hasn’t finished below .500 since going 4-6 in 2012.
About the Savage Cobras: Sigourney-Keota opened the season with three consecutive non-district losses to 2A second-ranked PCM (47-18), Wilton (19-14) and 2A eighth-ranked Mid-Prairie (28-0) but has won back-to-back district games over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Louisa-Muscatine by a combined score of 110-0.
The Savage Cobras are averaging 215 rushing yards per game and 5.3 yards per carry and have five players with at least 80 rushing yards on the season led by Molyneux.
Senior Brayden Wood (6-0, 190) has rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns and has also completed 10-of-21 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns with five interceptions.
Senior John Berg (6-1, 165) has been the top target in the passing game with six receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown while Ayden Galindo (6-2, 175) has caught three passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns.
Sigourney-Keota has been solid defensively holding opponents to 234 total yards and 18.8 points per game while allowing 4.9 yards per play.
Junior Chase Clarahan (6-1, 180) leads Sigourney-Keota with 27 tackles with three for loss and sophomore Blake Baker (5-11, 165) has 18.5 tackles with 5.5 for loss and an interception.
Wells Clark (5-10, 180) has 16.5 tackles and leads the team with three sacks
About the Regals: Class 1A third-ranked Regina continued an impressive start to the season with a second consecutive lopsided district win on Friday.
Regina followed up a 55-6 win at Cardinal in its district opener with a 50-6 win over Durant on Friday.
Led by senior quarterback Kyle Tracy the Regal offense is averaging 46.8 points and 326 total yards per game while averaging 7.3 yards per play.
Tracy has completed 50-of-65 passes for 749 yards and 12 touchdowns with two interceptions and has rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns.
Savion Miller has rushed for 372 yards and seven touchdowns and has three receptions for 72 yards and three touchdowns.
Tate Wallace leads the Regals with 19 receptions for 245 yards and four touchdowns and Drew Greve has 12 receptions for 196 yards and a touchdown.
The Regina defense is allowing 15 points and 187 total yards per game while holding opponents to 4.1 yards per play.
Wallace has a team-high 21 tackles with 5.5 tackles for loss while James Whisler has 19 tackles with 3.5 for loss.
Luke Hamilton has 18.5 tackles and Greve has a team-high five interceptions as the Regals have forced 11 turnovers.
