Girls Cross Country Roundup: Fourth-ranked Solon Wins Team Title at Anamosa Invitational

Class 3A fourth-ranked Solon opened the season by winning the team title at the Anamosa Invite on Saturday at Anamosa Middle School.
Solon had four runners finish in the top 10 while winning the team title with 36 points.
Sumner-Fredericksburg was runner-up with 73 points followed by Washington with 75 points, Tipton with 104 and Louisa-Muscatine with 138.
Falyn Svalstad finished fourth in a time of 21:19.5 to lead Solon while freshman Mailee Schmidt was right behind in fifth place in a time of 21:19.9.
Sophomore Liv Nelson was sixth in 21:32.9 and sophomore Addison Seamans placed eighth in a time of 21:42.1 for the Spartans.
Freshman Kali Poe placed 13th in 22:14.8 for Solon.
