Boys Cross Country Roundup: Clear Creek Amana, City High Win Titles at Cedar Rapids Prairie Invite

City High and Clear Creek Amana each won team titles on Saturday at the season-opening Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School.
Class 4A second-ranked City High won the Black Division title while Class 3A No. 12 Clear Creek Amana claimed the Orange Division title.
City High had five runners finish in the top 15 overall while winning the Black Division title with 43 points.
Class 4A fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie was runner-up with 63 points followed by Dubuque Senior with 68, 3A second-ranked Pella with 72 and Western Dubuque with 107.
Linus McRoberts finished third overall in a time of 15:56.1 to lead City High while David Randall was sixth in a time of 16:20.5.
Emmett Palmberg placed eighth in 16:36.4, Jasper McRoberts was 13th in a time of 16:44.2 and Jack Leman was 15th in 16:52.1 for the Little Hawks.
Carson Meskimen finished 11th overall in a time of 16:40.4 to lead Clear Creek Amana as the Clippers claimed the Orange Division title with 30 points.
Fort Madison was runner-up with 64 points followed by Williamsburg with 110, Monticello with 111 and Cedar Rapids Xavier with 143.
Senior Nic Schieltz finished 25th overall in a time of 17:19.9 and senior Jackson VanHorn was 33rd in a time of 17:48.4 for the Clippers.
Sophomore Quade Jensen placed 40th in a time of 17:56.4 and junior Mason Miller finished 42nd in 18:01.2 for Clear Creek Amana.
