Solon shot a nine-hole school record 165 while knocking off Independence in a WAMAC Conference dual meet on Monday afternoon at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon.

Senior Sydney Dee fired a two-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors while Izzy Frees was one stroke back with a 39 to lead Solon.

The 165 team score for the Spartans was one shot better than the previous school record of 166 that was set last season.

Emma Phelps and Jaya Farlinger each shot 44 for Solon while Macy Fuller carded a 48 and Taylor Jett added a 49.
