Girls Basketball Roundup: Ninth-ranked City High Bounces Back With Win Over Dubuque Hempstead

Class 5A ninth-ranked City High bounced back quickly from a loss to fifth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie on Monday with a 71-58 win over Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division contest on Tuesday in Iowa City.
City High improved to 13-5 with the win while Dubuque Hempstead dropped to 6-12 on the season with its third consecutive loss.
August Palmer had a game-high 27 points to lead three City High players in double figures.
Kaitlin Loria had 15 points and Tessa Driscoll added 10 points for City High while Emmy McComas had nine points and Hattie Galloway had seven.
Mara Hinz had 20 points to lead Dubuque Hempstead and Sydney Feldhacker had 16 points for the Mustangs.
