Solon defeated Maquoketa 58-50 on Tuesday in the season opener for both teams in Solon.

Caleb Bock had a game-high 21 points to lead Solon while Nolan Seagren added eight points for the Spartans.

Jackson Link had seven points and Maddox Kelley had six points for the Spartans.

Nolan Ehlinger had 17 points to pace Maquoketa while Brant Bennis had 12 points and Parker Burmeister added 9 for the Cardinals.
