City High fell to Ames 49-40 in a non-conference contest on Tuesday in Iowa City.

The Little Hawks dropped to 1-1 with the loss while Ames improved to 1-0 on the season.

Parker Sutherland had a team-high 12 points for City High while Jaxton Schroeder added 11 points for the Little Hawks.

Davion Luckett had seven points and Chris Watkins had six points for City High.

Jamison Poe had 12 points to lead Ames while Abram Vos had 10 points and Isaia Knight and Will Thomas each had eight.
