Clear Creek Amana All-stater Berkland Signs With Purdue Fort Wayne

Two-time all-state performer Meg Berkland has found her future volleyball home.
One of the centerpieces of the most successful run in Clear Creek Amana program history Berkland will continue her career at Purdue Fort Wayne, signing with the Mastodons earlier this month.
As a four-year starter Berkland helped Clear Creek Amana to a 132-30 record during her career, a stretch that included three consecutive WAMAC West Division titles and the first back-to-back state tournament appearances in program history.
A 5-foot-3 defensive specialist, Berkland ranked in the top 10 in the state in digs and earned Class 4A all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association in each of her final two prep seasons.
As a senior last fall Berkland earned unanimous all-WAMAC West Division honors after ranking 10th in the state and first in 4A with 531 digs.
Berkland also had a career-high 46 ace serves as a senior helping Clear Creek Amana to a 46-1 record and a spot in the 4A semifinals.
During her four-year career Berkland amassed 1,778 digs and 169 ace serves.
