Softball Roundup: Liberty High Splits Non-Conference Doubleheader With No. 15 Waukee

Class 5A ninth-ranked Liberty High split a doubleheader with No. 15 Waukee on Monday in North Liberty winning the opener 5-3 and dropping the nightcap 6-4.
Liberty High moved to 12-7 on the season with the doubleheader split while Waukee is now 8-9 on the season.
Ellie Tague earned the win in game one allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits while striking out three in a complete game.
Brynlee Slockett went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI and Ava Tague and Lanie Meyer each hit solo home runs for the Lightning.
Kinley Jones had a hit and scored a run and Kelsey Kaut had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run.
Mischa Reiners doubled and drove in a run.
Waukee scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to snap a 4-all tie in its 6-4 win in the nightcap.
Reiners was 2-for-4 with a double and Kennedy Conner had a double and drove in two runs in game two.
Kaut had a triple and scored a run, Ava Tague had a double and drove in a run and Haley Schoeder and Slockett each scored runs.
