City High’s bid for a second win over a ranked opponent in less than 24 hours came up short with a 61-32 loss to Class 5A No. 13 West Des Moines Valley on Saturday at City High.

The Little Hawks snapped a seven-game losing streak with a win over 5A No. 15 West High on Friday before dropping to 4-11 on the season with the loss to West Des Moines Valley on Saturday.

West Des Moines Valley improved to 9-8 on the season with the win.

Elise Jaeger had a game-high 22 points to lead three players in double figures for West Des Moines Valley.

Elan Litt had 13 points and Avery Moon had 11 for the Tigers.

Hattie Galloway led City High with 10 points while Augie Palmer and Kaitlin Loria each had nine points for the Little Hawks.
