Class 3A top-ranked Solon picked up in 2024 where it left off in 2023 securing its fifth win of the season over a ranked team with a 36-33 victory over 3A ninth-ranked Benton on Thursday in a WAMAC cross-divisional contest in Van Horn.

Hailey Miller and Callie Levin each had 12 points as Solon improved to 10-1 on the season with its fourth win in a row.

Benton dropped to 6-4 on the season with its second straight loss.

Anna Quillin added five points for Solon and Mia Stahle and Laeni Hinkle each had three for the Spartans.

Emma Townsley had a game-high 15 for Benton and Zoey Junge had eight for the Bobcats.
