West High won seven matches and edged Cedar Rapids Washington 39-36 in a Mississippi Valley Conference dual meet on Thursday in Iowa City.

The Trojans got pins from Alexander Pierce, Campbell Janis, Sterling Warren, Kyler Scranton, Justin Avila and Evan Anderson on their way to the win.

Second-ranked Pierce posted an impressive win on Thursday with a second-period pin of fourth-ranked Brennan Geers at 106 pounds.

Braden Doyle also posted a win for the Trojans with a 14-12 decision over Isaiah Price at 132 pounds.
