Volleyball Roundup: City High Goes 2-2 at Home Tournament

City High went 2-2 at its own round robin tournament on Saturday with a pair of losses to ranked opponents.
The Little Hawks went 1-2 in matches against ranked teams on Saturday defeating Class 4A sixth-ranked Council Bluffs Lewis Central (19-21, 21-14, 15-12) and falling to 5A No. 5 Ankeny Centennial (25-23, 21-13) and No. 13 Bettendorf (21-11, 16-21, 15-13).
City High also posted a 21-17, 21-19 win over Dubuque Hempstead and moved to 3-6 on the season with the 2-2 performance on Saturday.
Claire Ernst led City High with 33 kills in the four matches while Emmy McComas had 16 kills and Ruby McDonough added 14 for the Little Hawks on Saturday.
Ernst had 15 digs and five ace serves while McComas had 29 digs and McDonough posted four blocks.
Sidney Slay had 69 assists, eight kills and six ace serves and Haleigh Nelson had 21 digs and three ace serves.
