Ford Washburn won the individual title to help Class 4A second-ranked City High to a runner-up finish at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday morning at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf.

Washburn led three Little Hawks in the top 10 on Saturday winning the individual title in 15:48, nearly 20 seconds in front of runner-up Jaxson Plumb of Johnston.

Class 4A fourth-ranked Johnston won the team title with 66 points while City High was second with 69 and Wheaton North (Illinois) was third with 73.

West High was seven with 177 points.

Truman Thompson finished third for City High in a time of 16:18 while Noah Carey was eighth for the Little Hawks in 16:45.

Adam Bywater placed 25^th and Ammon Smith was 32 in 17:46 to round out the scoring for City High.

West High got a pair of top-15 finishes as sophomore Moustafa Tiea placed 11^th in 17:04 and Seth Cheney was 14^th in 17:18 to pace the Trojans.

Michael Lee was 39^th and Andrew Polgreenwas 49^th for West High.
