If Solon is to make a run in the softball postseason the Spartans will do so as a ranked team.

Solon returned to rankings coming in at No. 15 in Class 3A in the final regular season rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Wednesday.

The Spartans open postseason play on Thursday hosting Marion in a Class 3A quarterfinal.

Liberty High dropped two spots to No. 14 in the Class 5A rankings while Clear Creek Amana slipped four spots to No. 7 in the final Class 4A rankings.

Top-ranked teams in the final rankings were Fort Dodge in Class 5A, Winterset in Class 4A and Mount Vernon in Class 3A.
