Baseball Roundup: Solon Stays Hot With Non-Conference Win Over Regina

Solon earned its second win over Regina in as many weeks downing the Regals 5-1 in a non-conference contest in Iowa City on Wednesday.
The Spartans improved to 21-14 on the season and have now won 12 of their last 14 while Regina dropped to 13-12 on the season.
Ty Bell earned the win for Solon allowing one run on three hits while striking out two and walking three in 4 1/3 innings.
Vince Steinbrech worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out three.
Logan Gruchow was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored to lead Solon while Parker Pentico and Tyson Wheeler each had hits and drove in runs for the Spartans.
Michael Pipolo had a hit and scored a run and Brett White scored a run for Solon.
Connor Nicpon took the loss for Regina allowing five runs on six hits while striking out two and walking four.
Danny Gavin had a hit and scored a run and Jack Clark drove in a run for the Regals.
Jack Tierney, Henry Bottorff and Christian Mills added hits for Regina.
