City High swept Linn-Mar in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division doubleheader on Monday at Oak Ridge Middle School in Marion winning the opener 5-0 and taking the nightcap 7-6.
Class 4A sixth-ranked City High improved to 18-6 on the season and 13-5 in MVC play with the sweep while Linn-Mar dropped to 11-11 on the year and 9-9 in conference play.
Cade Obermueller earned the win in the opener tossing six innings of one-hit baseball while striking out 11 and walking two.
Ty Hall worked a scoreless seventh inning to complete the shutout for City High.
Obermueller also went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored to lead City High.
Alex Knudtson had two hits and scored a run while Gable Mitchell was 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBI.
Drew Carlson had a double and drove in two runs and Joey Bouska and Carter Seaton each scored runs in the opener.
City High scored two runs in the top of the sixth to rally for a 7-6 win in the nightcap.
Mitchell had an RBI triple that gave City High the lead and finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and also worked three innings of one-run relief to earn the win on the mound.
Obermueller had two hits and drove in a run while Seaton and Bouska each had a hit and scored a run.
Jacob Williamson had a hit and drove in a run, Talon Young scored a run and drove in a run and Cooper Drake had a hit and scored a run.
