Baseball Roundup: West High Blanks Waterloo West Twice for Second Consecutive MVC Sweep

West High extended its winning streak to five with its second Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader sweep of the week on Friday posting a pair of shutouts of Waterloo West in Waterloo.
The Trojans won the opener 9-0 and took the nightcap 13-0 in five innings improving to 9-4 on the season and 6-4 in MVC play.
Waterloo West dropped to 2-11 on the season and 1-9 in MVC action.
Cade Adkins tossed a complete game shutout in the opener allowing seven hits while striking out three without issuing a walk.
Noah DeSaulniers had two hits and Adkins and Ryne Vander Leest each had a hit and drove in two runs for the Trojans in the win.
Jacob Koch and Aiden Van Iddekinge each had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run and Mitch Frey had a hit and scored twice.
Nate Gudenkauf, Zach Logsdon and Ben Hoefer each scored runs and Hoefer had an RBI in game one.
In the nightcap DeSaulniers tossed a complete-game shutout walking two and fanning eight as West High completed the sweep.
