West High swept Cedar Rapids Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional doubleheader on Tuesday in Iowa City winning the opener 7-6 and taking the nightcap 5-2.
The Trojans improved to 6-4 on the season with the sweep while Cedar Rapids Washington dropped to 5-5.
West High scored a run in the sixth to snap a 6-all tie in game one and jumped to an early 5-0 after three innings in the nightcap to complete the sweep.
Caden Noeller picked up in the win in the opener working an inning in relief of starter Nathan Stephens who allowed four runs on five hits while striking out seven in five innings.
Luke Fasse worked a perfect seventh inning to secure the save.
Mitch Frey went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead West High in the opener.
Ben Hoefer, Noah DeSaulniers, Aiden Van Iddekinge and Carter Freidhof all had two hits for the Trojans.
Zach Logsdon had a hit and drove in a run, while DeSaulniers, Freidhof and Nate Gudenkauf all added RBI.
Hoefer picked up the win in the nightcap striking out four and allowing three hits in five shutout innings.
Jacob Koch had two hits and drove in four runs to lead West High in game two while Freidhof walked twice and scored two runs.
DeSaulniers, Van Iddekinge, Cade Adkins and Frey all had hits and Gudenkauf drove in a run.
