Solon is one win away from a trip to the state tournament.

Ninth-ranked Solon scored twice in each half and moved one win away from a state tournament berth with a 4-0 win over Washington on Tuesday in a Class 1A, Region 7 semifinal at Spartan Stadium in Solon.

The win was the seventh straight for Solon, all via shutout, and improved the Spartans to 16-3 on the season.

Washington closed the season 10-7.

Solon will travel to eighth-ranked Van Meter (10-6) on Thursday at 6 p.m. for the Region 7 title game with the winner advancing to the 1A state tournament at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.

With four goals on Tuesday Solon has now outscored opponents 16-0 during its current seven-match winning streak.
