Baseball Roundup: Regina Drops Season Opener to Sixth-ranked Davenport Assumption

Regina fell to Class 3A sixth-ranked Davenport Assumption 10-2 on Tuesday in its season opener in Iowa City.
Assumption scored four runs in both the third and fourth innings to blow open a close game while improving to 2-1 on the season.
Regina took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when Michael Martin drew a lead off walk and eventually scored a wild pitch.
The Knights responded with the next eight runs scoring four in the fourth and the fifth and tacking on two more runs in the sixth.
Cameron Lehman took the loss for Regina allowing eight runs, six earned, on five hits whiles striking out three in 4 2/3 innings.
Jack Tierney and Henry Bottorff each had hits for the Regals.
