Another game, another win over a top-10 opponent for West High.
Class 5A seventh-ranked West High earned its second consecutive win over a top-10 opponent to open the season on Friday holding off No. 10 Cedar Rapids Washington 47-46 in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional showdown in Iowa City.
Emma Ingersoll-Weng poured in 21 points and Lucy Wolf added nine as West High improved to 2-0 on the season.
Cedar Rapids Washington got a game-high 34 points for Iowa recruit Hannah Stuelke but dropped to 2-1 on the season.
Melae Lacy and Anna Prouty each had five points for West High while Avery Vest added four.
