Class 5A No. 13 City High went 1-2 at the Mississippi Valley Conference quadrangular on Tuesday at West High.

City high defeated No. 15 Dubuque Hempstead 22-25, 25-17, 15-9 and fell to No. 14 West High 19-25, 25-15, 15-12 and Class 4A top-ranked Western Dubuque 25-15, 25-10.

West High finished 2-1 on Tuesday adding a 25-11, 25-14 win over Dubuque Hempstead and falling to Western Dubuque 25-17, 27-25.

The 1-2 performance on Tuesday move City High to 19-14 on the season while West High improved to 15-16 with its 2-1 effort.

Claire Ernst led City High with 26 kills and 25 digs in the three matches while Emmy McComas had 18 kills and 34 digs.

Makayla Ribble had 64 assists, 10 kills and 29 digs and Ruby McDonough had 11 kills and seven blocks for the Little Hawks.

Morgan Turner added 23 digs and five assists.
