Baseball Roundup: Regina Splits RVC Doubleheader at Wilton

Regina split a River Valley Conference South Division doubleheader with Wilton on Monday in Wilton winning the opener 3-2 and dropping the nightcap 8-7.
The Regals moved to 10-10 on the season and 8-7 in RVC play while Wilton is now 9-8 on the year and 6-7 on conference contests.
Adam Connell earned the win in the opener striking out 10 while allowing just two unearned runs on three hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Jack Brandt came on to record the final out to earn the save.
Declan McCoy had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run to lead Regina while Sean Nugent added two hits and an RBI.
Kyle Schooley had a hit, drove in a run and scored a run and Danny Gavin had a hit and scored a run.
In the nightcap, Wilton scored four runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth and then held off a seventh-inning Regal rally to win 8-7.
Nugent, Gavin and Levi Quinlan all had two hits for Regina in the nightcap.
Quinlan tripled, drove in three runs and scored twice while Gavin drove in two runs and Nugent had an RBI and scored a run.
Jack Tierney went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and Cameron Lehman had a hit and drove in a run.
