A matchup of tenth-ranked teams riding long winning streaks turned into a showcase sweep for Solon.

Class 3A tenth-ranked Solon pushed its winning streak to 11 with an impressive sweep of 4A No. 10 West Delaware in a WAMAC Conference East Division doubleheader on Wednesday in Solon.

Solon won the opener 11-2 and took the nightcap 4-1 while improving to 18-5 on the season and 12-4 in WAMAC play.

West Delaware had an eight-game winning streak snapped with the sweep and dropped to 12-5 on the season and 8-4 in conference play.

Solon exploded for 18 hits in the opener while rolling to an 11-2 win.

Camryn Keith and Hilary Wilson accounted for eight of the Spartans’ 18 hits, each going 4-for-4 with a home run.

Wilson doubled twice, homered and scored four runs while Keith drove in four runs and scored three times.

Monet Barnhouse had three hits and drove in two runs while Tiffany Primmer and Sarah Heick each had two hits and scored a run.

Carly Ellison had two hits and drove in two runs and Ava Stebral had a hit and two RBI.

Izzy Frees earned the win in the opener allowing two runs on two hits while striking out three and walking one.

Kendall Jensen followed with a strong outing in the nightcap, holding the Hawks to one run on four hits while striking out three.

Wilson doubled and scored a run while Heick homered and drove in two for the Spartans.

Ellison had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run and Stebral had a hit and drove in a run for Solon.
