Class 3A No. 10 Solon stretched its winning streak to a season-best nine games with a doubleheader sweep of South Tama on Monday in Tama.

Solon won the opener 14-2 in three innings and took the nightcap 14-1 in four innings while improving to 16-5 on the season and 10-4 in WAMAC Conference contests.

South Tama dropped to 1-16 and 0-12 in WAMAC play.

Hilary Wilson went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and three RBI and three runs scored to pace Solon in the opener.

Sarah Heick went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored and Monet Barnhouse homered and drove in three runs.

Camryn Keith had a double, an RBI and scored two runs and Taylor Primmer had a hit and scored twice for the Spartans.

Ava Stebral had a hit and drove in a run while Meghan O’Neill had a hit and scored a run.

Kendal Jensen earned the win allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two and walking two.

Izzy Frees picked up the win in game two allowing one unearned run on one hit while fanning four and walking one.

Heick went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored and Barnhouse was 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI.

O’Neill was 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored, Primmer had two hits and scored two runs and Keith had two doubles and drove in three runs.

Wilson was 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI and Carly Ellison had a double, scored a run and drove in a run.
