Baseball Roundup: City High Picks up First Win at Davenport Assumption

A night after City High opened the season with a loss to Davenport West the Little Hawks got themselves in the win column.
Cade Obermueller tossed five strong innings and John Klosterman had two hits and drove in a run as Class 4A eighth-ranked City High (1-1) downed Class 3A No. 2 Davenport Assumption 4-1 in Davenport.
Obermueller allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight and walking three in five innings and Carter Seaton struck out four in two innings of one-hit relief to earn the save.
The win came after City High dropped its season opener 5-1 to Davenport West on Monday.
Klosterman had an RBI double in the first and scored a pair of runs to lead City High.
Gavin Koch doubled and scored, Obermueller had a hit and drove in a run while Seaton drove in a run and Egan Smith scored a run.
City High is set to host Clinton on Thursday.
