City High Opens Season Eighth in Class 4A IHSBCA Rankings

A year ago City High was one of the final eight Class 4A baseball teams playing advancing to the quarterfinals of the state tournament.
The Little Hawks open the 2021 favored to be in that position again.
City High opens the season ranked eighth in Class 4A in the pre-season rankings released on Sunday by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The Little Hawks are coming off an 11-9 season that ended with a loss to Dubuque Hempstead in the quarterfinals of the 4A state tournament.
Top-ranked teams to open the season are Ankeny in Class 4A, Gilbert in Class 3A, Van Meter in 2A and Council Bluffs St. Albert in 1A.
