City High won five events on its way to a fourth-place team finish at the Hi-Covey Invitational on Tuesday in Ames.

John Aschenbrenner and Ronnie Major claimed individual titles and Ben Kueter was a part of three relay wins for City High as the Little Hawks racked up 101 points.

Southeast Polk won the team title with 135 points followed by Sioux City North with 118 and Ankeny Centennial with 107.5.

West Des Moines Valley was fifth with 94.5 while host Ames was sixth with 94.

Aschenbrenner won the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.3 and Major won the long jump with a leap of 20-1 ¾.

Matt Schaeckenbach was runner-up in the high jump clearing 6-2 while Truman Thompson was third in the 1,600 in 4:41.13.

City High won the distance medley, shuttle hurdle and 4×400 relays.

Schaeckenbach, Austin Rindels, Kueter and Aschenbrenner won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:01.19 and Kueter, Schaeckenbach, Jovan Harris and Ammon Smith won the distance medley in 3:36.22.

Schaeckenbach, Smith, Kueter and Harris teamed up to win the 4×400 in 3:27.63.
