Telander, Moe Earn Mississippi Valley Conference First Team All-Division Honors

The seniors on the Liberty High roster were responsible for building the program from ground up.
Going from a brand-new program as freshman to the first winning season and substate final appearance in program history this season.
Four of those seniors were recognized for their building efforts on Wednesday when the Mississippi Valley Conference announced its postseason awards.
Liberty High seniors Kelby Telander, Ira Hazeltine, Basil Aldoss and Ethan O’Donnell were all received all-division honors in the MVC for their performance this season.
Telander was named to the Mississippi Division first team after leading the Lightning with 14.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-5 Telander is the second first-team selection in program history and first since Andre Brandon in 2019.
Hazeltine was a second-team Mississippi Division pick after averaging 10.8 points while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range.
Aldoss and O’Donnell were each honorable mention honorees.
O’Donnell averaged 10.2 points, 5.2 rebound and 3.4 assists per game while Aldoss averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
West High junior Peter Moe was a first-team pick in the Valley Division following a debut season in which he averaged 23.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-8 Moe shot 55 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range while leading the MVC in scoring.
Junior Christian Barnes was a second-team Valley Division pick after averaging 9.7 points and a team-high 4 assists per game.
Senior Grahm Goering and freshman Kareem Earl were each honorable mention picks in the Valley Division.
Goering averaged 5.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game while Earn averaged 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
City High had three players earn all-division honors.
Junior Jamari Newson was a second-team pick in the Mississippi Division after averaging 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
Senior Byron Benton and junior Darren Richardson both earned honorable mention honors.
Benton led the Little Hawks in scoring at 11.4 points per game and averaged 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists while Richardson averaged 6.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
