City High battled defending 5A champion Cedar Falls to the wire before falling to the fifth-ranked Tigers 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 15-8 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division match in Iowa City.

City High dropped to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in MVC play while Cedar Falls improved to 20-2 and 5-0 in Mississippi Division matches.

Alia Vanderhoef led City High with 22 kills and 20 digs while Makayla Ribble had 50 assists and six kills.

Ruby McDonough had seven kills and Maya Morales had 23 digs and a pair of ace serves for the Little Hawks.
