Cross Country Roundup: Solon Wins Second Meet Title in Six Days

What a week for the Solon boys cross country team.
Gabe Hinman raced to a fourth-place finish to lead Solon to the team title at the 45th annual Anamosa Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning at Anamosa Middle School.
It was the second meet title in six days for Solon and came after the Spartans claimed the team title at their own home invitational on Monday.
Led by Hinman Class 3A fourth-ranked Solon had four runners finish in the top five on Saturday while cruising to the team title with 51 points.
Class 1A fourth-ranked South Winneshiek was second with 84 points followed by 2A No. 5 Tipton with 98, Cedar Rapids Jefferson with 103 and Monticello with 126.
Hinman placed fourth in a time of 17:00.2 while senior Tyler Bilskie was ninth in 17:17.8.
Freshmen Michael Yeomans and Brick Kabela were 11th and 15th respective for the Spartans.
