Clear Creek Amana wasn’t able to string together enough hits to start a rally on Friday against Regina.
Until it mattered most.
The Clippers used five consecutive hits to score five runs in the seventh inning to earn a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Regina in a non-conference contest in Oxford.
Senior Ainsley Schrock capped the string of five consecutive hits in the five-run seventh inning with a two-run walkoff single as the Clippers improved to 13-8 on the season.
Regina dropped to 7-12 with the loss.
Clear Creek Amana trailed 6-2 entering its final at bat with its only two runs coming on solo home runs from Gabrielle Bedford and Avery Allan.
Down to its final three outs the Clippers went to work.
After Allie Rummelhart reached on an error leading off the inning Alan and Bailey Olerich followed with singles to load the bases.
A Cheyanne Bunch single cut the lead to 6-3 and Bedford followed with a two-run double to trim the lead to 6-5.
Schrock ended it with a two-run single to center that plated Bunch and Bedford.
Regina took a 3-0 lead in the third on RBI singles by Annie Gahan and Emma Sueppel and an RBI double by Elly Gahan.
Clear Creek Amana got as close as 3-2 courtesy of solo home runs from Bedford in the third and Allan in the fifth.
Regina pushed the lead to 6-2 with three runs in the sixth on a Baylee O’Connor RBI single and RBI doubles by Elly Gahan and Kate Milder.
Bedford went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead Clear Creek Amana while Schrock had two hits and drove in two runs and Allan had two hits and scored twice.
Elly Gahan was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Sueppel was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored for Regina.
Raina Henze earned the win for Clear Creek Amana allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits in a complete game.
