Baseball Roundup: Solon Sweeps Williamsburg to Stretch Win Streak to Seven

Solon used big innings late in both games to earn a doubleheader sweep of Williamsburg on Monday in a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional matchup in Williamsburg.
The Spartans secured a 10-4 win in the opener with a six-run seventh inning and used a four-run sixth to secure an 8-3 win in the nightcap while stretching their winning streak to seven.
Solon improved to 12-4 on the season with the sweep while Williamsburg dropped to 4-12.
Will Noonan worked 5 1/3 strong innings of relief to earn the win in game one.
Noonan allowed one run on five hits while striking out two and walking two in game one.
Carson Shive went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and two RBI while Nolan Pattison and Bo Janssen each had hits and drove in two runs in game one.
Kinnick Pusteoska had two hits and drove in a run while Blake Timmons doubles and scored twice.
Brett White and Cole Arduser each scored two runs in the opener.
Solon scored eight unanswered runs to dig out of an early three-run hole in the nightcap.
Arduser went 2-for-3 with three RBI and White was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Spartans.
Cael O’Neill went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored while Pattison and Pusteoska each had a hit and drove in a run.
Sully Steen earned the win working three innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits while striking out one.
Blake Timmons started and allowed three unearned runs on seven hits while striking out five in four innings.
